Photography

I have been interested in photography since early high school when I took my first photography class. After living in both Chicago and New York, I have found that there are so many interesting things to capture when just roaming around in the city that many fail to notice. I love shooting the artistic elements in architecture, as well as people’s simple, authentic moments. Some of my recent street photographs are entered for consideration to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

Cooking

Cooking has always been a big part of my life and something my family has loved for generations. I love cooking with my family and friends and throughout high school, I have been able to connect with my loved ones through the outlet that cooking has created for me.

Dance

I was a dancer for 12 years from the age of 3 to 15. I began with simple classes once each week and transitioned to competitive dance around age 10. I was involved in many styles; ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, contemporary, acrobatics, and modern. Each was a challenge of its own which was one of my favorite parts. Something I credit to dance is the discipline that I carry with me in the classroom and in my rowing. It pushed me to be a hard worker and although I do not do it at the competitive level anymore, I cannot imaging life without it.
